3 Quick Tips on Wearing a Burgundy Velvet Bomber Jacket
Honestly, I have found that this bomber jacket is not easy to pull off! Mainly because dark burgundy color amplifies the weight of the jacket, velvet is a heavy material, and the style of the jacket is a little different from a typical bomber jacket.
So, here are a few quick tips on what to consider when wearing a similar bomber:
1. Wear it with neutral colors – with burgundy being such a vibrant color, you don’t want to add lots of other crazy textures or bright colors or else it'll look messy.
2. Dress for the occasion – the velvet material on this bomber jacket does tend to look heavy and bulky so wearing it over something more fitted underneath with long boots or heels makes the outfit look more elegant. Or you can go for a more of a relaxed look by wearing it over a loose shirt and a pair of jeans with sneakers or booties and leave the bomber unbuttoned.
3. Match its style - Vintage styled flight jacket is a little bit different than a regular bomber jacket – this one has a gathered waist, a collar instead of a plunging neckline, and it’s a lot more bulky than most of the bomber jackets I see in stores today. So you just have to play around and try it over different things. What it works with is denim (it tends to give off that 80s vibe) and a white tee (makes the burgundy color pop!). It doesn’t look good when paired with a fitted mini skirt – stating from experience!
