6 Dos and Don'ts of Wearing Denim on Denim

6 Dos and Don'ts of Wearing Denim on Denim

DO – Balance Out the Shades and Cuts

A certain look can look amazing on some people, but may not necessarily work for you with your body proportions, so knowing your body type helps. Dark shades of course make you look slimmer while lighter shades add more volume, so knowing how to control these shades with your body type will help you achieve the perfect balance.

DON’T – Over Accessorize

Keeping accessories to the minimum will help your outfit look more polished and natural. But also notice that as denim is usually a cool-toned fabric, your accessories is what will stand out the most from the ensemble.

DO – Embrace Patchwork and Shredding

Who doesn’t love distressed denim! I think patching and rips make denim so much more fun and eye-catching. Adding simple accessories in this case will make your look more refined.

DO – Mix and Match

When wearing double denim, play around with different shades and accessories to see what works best for you with your body shape.

DON’T – Wear Double-Denim with Cowboy Boots

If you live in a rural area and embrace the country life, do it! But if you don’t intend on looking like a cowgirl, stay away from big hats, boots and low-rise flared jeans, especially all of those put together.

DO– Ignore the “Rules”

Fashion is self-expression so don’t be afraid to experiment with it and make a statement!
